East London Rugby Club’s Vixens ladies’ player Katie Gemal is one of the faces being used by World Rugby and its sponsorship partner Land Rover to promote the women’s Rugby World Cup 2021 currently being played in New Zealand.

Katie appears in a video, distributed on social media worldwide, drop-kicking a rugby ball into the back of a Land Rover Defender vehicle. The video uses the slogan ‘Ready to take on the World’ and has been viewed more than 5,000 times on You Tube.

The Rugby World Cup in New Zealand was postponed from last year. Twelve of the world’s top women’s teams are going head-to-head to determine who will be crowned world champions.

Katie, who doubles as East London’s club physiotherapist, also appears on the Land Rover Twitter page promoting the tournament and the Defender vehicle. She says: “Rugby is a game for all and that’s what I love about it. The spirit of rugby is about the family you build and the resilience it gives you.”
