TWO TEAMS THROUGH TO MERIT LEAGUE CUP FINALS

Wyverns set sights on league and Cup double

East London RFC will have two teams in action at Group 1 Automotive Merit Table Finals day on April 5th after 2nd XV the Wyverns secured a 29-19 victory over Campion 2s in their Cup semi-final at the Memorial Ground in West Ham.

The Wyverns are looking for a league and Cup double after becoming champions of Group 1 Automotive Merit Table Division 3 West for season 2024-25. They won 12 of 14 games to secure top spot with 60 points from 14 games including a bonus five points for fulfilling all their fixtures.

The Wyverns will now play Ilford Wanderers in the final of the Group 1 Automotive Merit Table Division 3 West Cup being held at Rochford RFC. They are holders of the trophy after Bancroft in the final last season.

The 2nd XV will be joined on finals day by East London’s third team, the Thirsty Thirds, who completed their league season by finishing as runners-up in Group 1 Automotive Merit Table Division 4 West.

The 3rd XV achieved seven wins from ten games to finish on 38 points including a bonus five points for fulfilling all their fixtures. They were nine points behind league winner Ravens who they now face in the final of the Group 1 Automotive Merit Table Division 4 West Cup also being held at Rochford RFC on April 5th.
