The funeral and celebration of the life of former East London RFC captain Clay Harris took place today (Monday 22th April) at South Essex Crematorium in Upminster.
Clay (pictured back row first from left) passed away recently at the age of 65. He captained the club in the 1988/89 season and was also the coach of the East London Colts side. The club paid tribute to him ahead of their games against Campion on 6th April with a minute’s silence by both the first and second teams.
Club Chair Simon Crick said: “Clay was a stalwart of the club and a hundred per cent player. We offer our condolences and deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all club members who knew and played alongside him.”
